A Visit To Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute

CMFRI threw open its door for the students on 5 February 2019 as part of its 72nd Foundation Day Celebration.Forty students and two teachers from NCS kochi Visited the Institute on 5 February 2019.


Students could view the splendours of the marine world like precious pearls in the deep sea and the process of extracting them from farmed Pearl Oysters.The Exhibition displayed diverse marine aquatic species and provided a platform for the students to understand the latest developments in marine research.

The marine biodiversity was rich with collection from a wide spectrum of niches ranging from estuaries to coastal and deeper waters of the Indian seas and various laboratories.Whale Shark, the largest fish, horse shoe crab, sea snakes, sea birds,pearl oyster,sea cow,dolphins and sharks.Different Ornamental varieties including bat fish and lion fish too mesmerised the students.
